Business Intelligence (BI)

Why choose Business Intelligence?

Business Intelligence is all about the desire to improve decision making within your company. By presenting up-to-date information to the right people in your company the quality of decisions as well as their timeliness will improve.

Therefore, culture change is key to successful adoption of the new techniques - technology is simply the facilitator, it is never the end in itself. Traditionally, business intelligence solutions were highly specialised and frequently highly expensive to implement and maintain. In the last couple of years, however, the availability of suitable tools has increased, whilst the cost of deployment has decreased. Another recent change is the improved flexibility and usability of business intelligence tools, allowing users to find exactly the information they require, without costly relience on already over-stretched IT staff.

Data integration, having one version of the truth available from every location, doesn't mean an advantage in business but determines which company can still exist on the market. Business decisions are not dealt quarterly or monthly, instead the need to analyse has arisen to a daily level. Every neglect of trends and business analysis leads to financial income decrease.

How much time does it take to prepare data, how much for analysis and how much for internal transferral of information – these questions must be raised in every company. All of our customers came up with an enormous annual sum (analysts and IT departments came up with approx. 60 days), whilst considering the possibility of errors and the fact that information still wasn't available on a less than monthly base.

The third reason why systems for decision making do represent a must in business, are all the obligations that companies and organizations have to their periodical reporting (bancs with Basel II specification, governments reporting to the EU, companies reporting to their mother enterprises and holdings, companies reporting to their suppliers, etc.).
